“Spiritual health and well-being are about a connection to something larger than yourself; a higher purpose beyond passing this course, writing that exam or paying those bills, which are all real challenges, but when there’s a connection to the eternal, the sacred or the divine, it helps us to manage and gives us meaning and purpose.

Faith can heal; it’s hopeful and transformative, allowing us to let go of anxiety, fear, stress, negativity, anger and resentment, so we have more room in our hearts to receive peace and perspective.”

While the current wildfires within BC are not in close proximity to Kamloops or the Williams Lake campuses, the threat of wildfire season affects us all.

- Assess your go-bag essentials, prep a checklist and organize those belongings.
- Make an evacuation plan with your family, friends, and/or roommates well in advance.
- Keep your gas tank topped up.
- Enjoy time in nature, but take responsibility for your actions.
- Discuss climate anxiety with a counsellor.

It starts with fun.
A laugh. A few steps into the water. A choice that seems harmless.

“I wasn’t always a straight-A student; I failed courses and had academic struggles, but I survived and moved forward. Those experiences have made me a deeply empathetic supporter of students. Studying online can feel isolating, so my role is to customize aspects of on-campus culture for the open learning community. We offer a little bit of everything; we’re the first point of contact, we have your back, and we want to help you succeed…whatever that looks like for your unique journey at TRU.”
