Founder of IMI International Management Institute Switzerland

Today, we mourn the passing of Heinz Bürki, founder of IMI International Management Institute Switzerland.

More than three decades ago, Heinz Bürki established IMI with a vision to create a learning environment where students from around the world could develop their talents, broaden their perspectives, and prepare for international careers.

What began as a vision grew into a global community that has touched the lives of thousands of students, alumni, and colleagues. The values and foundations he helped build continue to shape IMI today.

As we reflect on his life and contribution, we remember him with gratitude, respect, and appreciation for the lasting impact he has had on our institution and community.

Our heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Meet our new CEO!

Over the past months, IMI has gone through a period of change. As we move forward, we would like to introduce the person who will be leading this next phase.

David Hailstones joins IMI Group AG as Chief Executive Officer.

He brings experience across hospitality, education, and operational leadership in Switzerland and internationally. His focus will be on strengthening the academic environment, improving day to day operations, and working closely with students, partners, and the wider IMI community.

The priority now is simple: consistency, clarity, and delivering what is expected from IMI.

We see this as a step towards building a more stable and reliable path forward.
