🇨🇭💙 Once a Survalienne, always a Survalienne.

A heartfelt thank you to Swiss Ambassador Mr. Alain Gaschen for welcoming us to the Swiss Residence in Mexico City for the annual reception cocktail, bringing together the Surval community for a truly special evening.

Our Principal, Patricia Woodhouse, had the pleasure of presenting Surval Montreux, our exceptional all-girls boarding school nestled in the heart of Switzerland, and sharing the values, experiences, and traditions that make Surval so unique. ✨

The evening was made especially meaningful by the reunion of generations of Survaliennes, coming together from different chapters of their lives, yet connected by a shared experience that continues to shape who they are. Through cherished memories, renewed friendships, and stories of their time at Surval, we were reminded that a Surval education extends far beyond the classroom — building confidence, independence, lifelong friendships, and a sense of belonging that lasts long after graduation.

🌍 From Switzerland to Mexico and beyond, the Survalienne spirit transcends borders and generations. It is a community built on shared values, meaningful connections, and a bond that time and distance can never diminish.

📚 Learning in Action at Surval

Across our classrooms, our girls have been learning by doing — turning ideas into models, using maps to make connections, discussing the events that shaped our world and developing the confidence to communicate in another language 🥰

🏛️ Grade 11 revisited the Feudal System before moving into the Italian Renaissance, learning to recognise how ideas, people and cultural change shaped European society.

🧪 In Science, Grade 9 & 10 created atom models, helping them visualise atomic structure and turn scientific theory into practical understanding.

🌍 In World History & Geography, the girls explored the countries and regions of Africa, developing their map-reading skills while making connections between geography, place and history.

🇫🇷 In Advanced French, the girls prepared personal projects for a special French Assembly, putting their language skills into practice while building confidence in presenting and communicating in French.

At Surval, learning is active, collaborative and engaging in small classes making sure everyone in seen — encouraging our girls to explore, question, create and confidently share their ideas 💙

🚌🗺️ *Our first school trip of the year: The Surval Swiss Tour* 🇨🇭🧀

What better way to begin the school year than by discovering the country our girls will call home during their time at Surval?

The Surval Swiss Tour marked the first of 10 school trips planned throughout the academic year, taking our students beyond Montreux to experience more of Switzerland’s landscapes, cultures and traditions.

From crossing the spectacular Nufenen Pass, to discovering the Italian charm of Ascona and Lugano, trying their hand at a ravioli-making workshop, exploring beautiful Lucerne, and finishing the adventure in the Zürich with a visit to the Lindt Home of Chocolate 🍫, the girls had a wonderful introduction to the diversity of their new home country.

At Surval, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our school trips give girls the opportunity to discover new places together, broaden their perspectives, build independence and, importantly at the beginning of a new school year, form friendships and shared memories.

For girls joining us from around the world, the Swiss Tour is a wonderful way to begin their Surval journey — discovering Switzerland together and making it feel a little more like home 💙

🎉 ¡Feliz Día de la Independencia, México! 🇲🇽

At Surval, celebrating the cultures and traditions of our international community is an important part of school life. With 14 nationalities represented at Surval this year, our girls have so many opportunities to learn from one another and share a little of home with their Surval family🌍💙

Today, we came together to celebrate Mexican Independence Day, honouring our Mexican students and Survaliennes and immersing ourselves in Mexico’s vibrant traditions, rich culture, delicious cuisine and a much awaited piñata! 🌮✨

These moments are what make our community so special — opening our minds, broadening our global perspectives and celebrating the diversity that brings us together.

From baking a delicious cake and organising a bake sale to raise funds, to waking up early on Sunday to take part in a 5-kilometre charity run, our girls showed their commitment to making a difference — while encouraging and supporting one another every step of the way! 🏃‍♀️💙

We are so proud to celebrate our students who have successfully achieved their DELF certificates in French 🇫🇷✨

Their dedication, perseverance, and enthusiasm for language learning have led to this wonderful achievement 🎉

At Surval, many girls join us for a term, two terms, or a Swiss Gap experience with the goal of improving their French. Through immersive learning, daily practice, and cultural experiences, they make incredible progress in a short time.

The DELF qualification is internationally recognised and reflects real achievement in speaking, listening, reading, and writing French — a milestone our students should be truly proud of 💙

As the new term begins, we’re delighted to look back on our unforgettable two-week Scandinavia tour during the Spring holidays 🌍❄️

From the colourful streets of Copenhagen 🇩🇰 and a hands-on Danish baking experience, to charming seaside towns and incredible whale watching in Sweden 🇸🇪 🐋, our girls embraced every moment of discovery.

The journey continued through Norway 🇳🇴, featuring the breathtaking Oslo–Bergen train ride 🚆🏔️, stunning fjords, and rich cultural experiences along the way.
