St Gallen Model United Nations is an association founded at the University of St. Model UN is a simulation of the United Nations, aiming at providing students with a strong introduction to the world of international politics and diplomacy. It gives them the unique opportunity to play the role of a UN ambassador for a few days and represent a given country in a committee (UNESCO, WTO, HRC, SC,...) of the United Nations on pre-worked topics.

On Tuesday, 17 November, SGMUN and the International Affairs Days are delighted to welcome Samuel Cobbi, Diplomat, Deputy Head of Policy Planning at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and Founder of SGMUN, to the University of St. Gallen.

🎃 A NIGHT TO DIE FOR! 🕸️🦇

Last night, SGMUN traded diplomacy for a little dark magic as we gathered for an unforgettable Halloween Social! 👻

From terrifyingly creative costumes and spooky make-up to plenty of laughter, drinks, and unforgettable moments, the evening was filled with just the right amount of tricks, treats, and chaos 🕷️🍷

Of course, no Halloween celebration would be complete without a little competition! 🏆

HALL OF FAME: DENMARK 🇩🇰

A special shoutout to our Denmark delegates, who absolutely delivered at Starters Debate II! These girls (slide 2) definitely earned their spot in this week‘s Hall of Fame. 💚⚖️

And because diplomacy is thirsty work, we wrapped up the evening the only appropriate way: celebrating together over some well-earned free b**r. 🍻

Yesterday, we held the second part of our Starters Debate and what an evening it was! 🌎✨

Delving back into the question of Greendland‘s Sovereignty, our delegates took the floor once again. From creative solutions to intense negotiations, it was inspiring to see how much everyone has grown in just one week!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the evening such a success! Your energy, curiosity and open-mindedness are what make these debates special. 💚
