InCube Challenge 2026: 10 Years of Thinking Inside the Box! 🚀

This October, the ETH Entrepreneur Club is celebrating the 10th and biggest edition of the InCube Challenge 2026!

Bringing together talented students from leading universities around the world, InCube challenges teams of five to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems set by companies such as ABB, Roche, On, Astara, ELCA and Glencore.

The unique twist? Participants live and work inside transparent glass cubes in public spaces for five days, turning innovation into a live experience.
Following the OutCube retreat in Laax (20–24 October), InCube Week takes place from 26–30 October, with eight cubes across Switzerland.

📍 In Zurich, visitors can experience the challenge live at ETH Polyterrasse, Europaplatz (Europaallee) and Hechtplatz, with additional cubes in Basel, Zug and Geneva.

🏆 Grand Finale: 30 October, 18:00, ETH Audimax, where the teams will pitch their solutions to a jury of executives and a live audience.
A great opportunity to experience entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation up close!

𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝘇 – Biotech entrepreneur and co-founder of Molecular Partners. He brings over 20 years of experience in company building, drug development, and biotech innovation.

𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗵𝗻 – Global healthcare and life sciences advisor and board member with over 30 years of experience in pharma and medical devices, including roles at Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi, and Takeda.

𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 – Head of ETH Entrepreneurship, serial entrepreneur, and co-founder of ETH Juniors and Tempobrain. He advises founders on business models, growth, and fundraising.

We’re excited to celebrate Jessica Droujko, founder of ETH spin-off Riverkin and ETH Pioneer Fellowship alumna, who has been named 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the Female Innovation Forum, organised by Ladies Drive!

Presented by Brack Business, the award recognises Jessica’s innovative approach to using technology to improve safety and protect communities from natural disasters.

💧 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Riverkin is developing a smart water monitoring ecosystem that uses intelligent sensors to monitor rivers and smaller streams, helping detect flash floods early and improve forecasting. With more than 100 sensors already in operation, the ETH spin-off is turning innovative technology into real-world impact.

🚨 Moving beyond identity: Is a user session actually trustworthy?

Authentication confirms who someone is, but modern social engineering attacks (like tech support scams and QR code tricks) mean logins often succeed even when a fraudster is pulling the strings.

To combat this, ETH Zurich spin-off Futurae Technologies AG has officially launched Trust Signals: a new real-time risk intelligence product designed to enhance fraud detection.

By analyzing 7 key behavioral and contextual data points - such as detecting active phone calls during high-value transactions, remote access tools, and device proximity - Trust Signals gives institutions the crucial context they need to stop fraud early.

Seven signals are available at launch:
🔴 Latest Proximity checks whether two of a user’s devices, such as a phone and a computer, are physically close to each other.
🔴 Historical Proximity records whether a device has previously appeared next to a known device.
🔴 Geolocation determines the location from which a device is connecting.
🔴 Geovelocity assesses whether a change in location was physically possible in the time elapsed.
🔴 New Login Device reports when a device is used for the first time.
🔴 Active Call detects an ongoing phone call during a security-relevant action, such as approving a high-value transaction. In banking, this is a common indicator of social engineering.
🔴 Remote Access Tool identifies remotely controlled browser sessions based on mouse and keyboard patterns.

🔬 𝗨𝗦𝗗 𝟵 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗧𝗛 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻-𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗦𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲!

Congratulations to UniSieve on securing USD 9 million in Series A funding, bringing its total funding to USD 25 million! 🎉

The ETH spin-off is developing 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, helping industries reduce energy consumption, recover valuable resources and lower emissions.

Led by the Orano Venture Fund, managed by Supernova Group, the funding round will enable UniSieve to scale its technology, expand into new industrial applications and accelerate commercial deployment.
