EWA Explore, a 20-hour, self-paced online course from EIT Food that may be relevant to female students and researchers interested in entrepreneurship and innovation in the agrifood sector.
The programme is designed for women at an early stage. Participants do not need to already have a startup, registered company or completed business plan.
It may be particularly relevant to students or researchers who:
• have an idea they would like to explore further;
• have identified a problem through their studies or research;
• are interested in entrepreneurship but are unsure where to start;
• are curious about whether a research or project idea could have commercial potential;
• are interested in food, agriculture, sustainability, technology or the wider food system.
Relevant areas can include:
• food science and product development;
• agriculture and sustainable food production;
• nutrition and health-related food innovation;
• food waste and circular economy solutions;
• agri-tech and food-tech;
• biotechnology, engineering and digital technologies applied to the food system.
The course covers practical areas including:
• idea generation and design thinking;
• business models and strategy;
• financial literacy and legal basics;
• technology and data;
• networking and communication.
Language: EWA Explore is available in English, Turkish and Ukrainian, allowing participants to complete the course in the language that best suits them.
For women based in Cyprus, a limited number of scholarships are available through SocialTech Lab to cover the full cost of the programme. Scholarships will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications are open on a rolling basis throughout the year, so participants can apply when the timing is right for them.
