🚀Only a few days left until the Launch Game and it’s time to meet the experts and the roles they’ll take on during the simulation.

During the Launch Game, participants will work in teams to develop a business idea around a given challenge. Our experts will take on different roles throughout the simulation, offering guidance, challenging the teams’ ideas and bringing real-world perspectives from entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability and industry.

During the launch game, the following experts will support students’ ideas through their roles: Koulla Pazourou (Municipality of Limassol) as Chamber of Commerce, Konstantina Ioannou (PwC Cyprus) as investor, Ioannis Koureas (Frojigo) as Grants Advisor, Giorgos Andriotis (Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Cyprus) as the Business Developer, Dr Eleni Loulli (ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence) as Incubator Manager, Leon Pfenning (Hochschule Darmstadt) as Technical Coach, Foivi (Phoebe) Gkounta (Cyprus University of Technology / EUt+) as Loans Advisor, Penelope Vasquez Hadjilyra (The Way Space Begins) as Business Developer, and Eloiza Savvidou (Out of the 4 Walls) as Patent Advisor.

BuildSkills Academy was represented at ReSBE 2026 – ReShaping the Built Environment through Sustainability and Circularity, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 20–23 October 2026.

Eirini Konstantinou presented the paper “Circular Thinking Through Biomimicry: The Case of the Eden Project”, co-authored with Dr Athina Stavridou, Dr Antonia Christou and Dr Stylianos Yiatros.

The research explores how biomimicry can contribute to more sustainable and circular approaches in architecture and construction. Using the Eden Project in Cornwall as a case study, the work examines principles such as adaptation, resource efficiency and regeneration across ecosystem, architectural and material scales.

The paper forms part of Eirini Konstantinou’s doctoral research and the work carried out within BuildSkills Academy and is published by Springer Nature in the conference proceedings.

The research contributes to the work of BuildSkills Academy project, through which the course “Bio-inspired Innovation and Design for Sustainable Engineering Solutions” was offered to support professionals in developing skills for the green and digital transition of the built environment.

Το «Launch Game» απευθύνεται σε άτομα από τη φοιτητική κοινότητα που ενδιαφέρονται για την επιχειρηματικότητα, την καινοτομία και την πορεία δημιουργίας μιας νεοφυούς επιχείρησης. Μέσα από αυτή τη διαδραστική κοινωνική προσομοίωση, θα έχετε την ευκαιρία να βιώσετε από πρώτο χέρι τα πρώτα στάδια ανάπτυξης μιας επιχειρηματικής ιδέας.

Δουλεύοντας σε ομάδες, θα εξερευνήσετε μια πρόκληση, θα διαμορφώσετε μια ιδέα, θα λάβετε κρίσιμες αποφάσεις, θα ανταποκριθείτε σε απρόβλεπτες καταστάσεις και θα παρακολουθήσετε πώς εξελίσσεται η startup σας στην πορεία. Παράλληλα, θα έχετε καθοδήγηση και ανατροφοδότηση από ειδικούς του οικοσυστήματος, με πρακτική εμπειρία στον χώρο της επιχειρηματικότητας και της καινοτομίας.
Δεν χρειάζεται να έχετε ήδη επιχειρηματική ιδέα ή προηγούμενη εμπειρία με νεοφυείς επιχειρήσεις. Αρκούν η περιέργεια, η διάθεση για συνεργασία και η προθυμία να δοκιμάσετε κάτι διαφορετικό.

Και επειδή τέσσερις ώρες δημιουργικής και επιχειρηματικής σκέψης χρειάζονται ενέργεια, θα προσφερθούν φαγητό και ποτά καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια του απογεύματος.

Ever wondered what launching a startup actually feels like?

The Launch Game is open to students curious about entrepreneurship, innovation and the startup journey. Join us for an interactive social simulation where you will step into the shoes of a founder and experience the early stages of building a startup first-hand.

Working in teams, you will explore a challenge, shape an idea, make key decisions, respond to unexpected situations and see how your startup develops along the way. Throughout the experience, you will also receive guidance and feedback from ecosystem experts who bring real-world knowledge from entrepreneurship and innovation.

You do not need to have a business idea or previous startup experience. Just bring your curiosity, energy and willingness to collaborate.
And because four hours of startup thinking needs fuel, food and drinks will be provided to keep you going throughout the afternoon.
