The Faculty of Pharmacy at The British University in Egypt hosted Professor Dimitrios Lamprou, Chair of Biofabrication and Advanced Manufacturing, Director of Internationalisation, and Director at MSc Industrial Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy, Queen's University Belfast for a distinguished scientific seminar entitled “Discover the School of Pharmacy: Research Themes, Advanced Facilities, and Postgraduate & Collaborative Opportunities” on 6 May 2026.

The seminar highlighted advanced research themes in pharmaceutical sciences and nanotechnology, state-of-the-art facilities at Queen's University Belfast, and opportunities for postgraduate studies and international collaboration with BUE.

Prof. Lamprou also presented pioneering work in advanced drug delivery, Biofabrication, printing technologies, and microfluidics, reflecting the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to scientific excellence and strengthening international academic partnerships.

Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Loutfi, President of The British University in Egypt, Prof. Tarek Abbas, Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Health Cluster, Prof. Mohey Elmazar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Prof. Nahla El-Ashmawy, Vice Dean for Community Service & Enterprise, the Medical Convoys Administration successfully organised a medical convoy in Hurghada (Al-Dahar Mosque) and Ras Gharib on April 30 and May 1, in collaboration with the Health Cluster of the university.

Organised in coordination with the Red Sea Governorate, the Nation’s Future Party, and Al-Ashraf Society, the convoy was honoured by the support and presence of Red Sea Governor Waleed El-Barqi.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, represented by Dr. Ahmed Sekkien and Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Salem, contributed free medications worth over 385,000 EGP, alongside Clinical Pharmacy monitoring, health checks, and pharmaceutical counselling, reflecting the faculty’s ongoing commitment to community service and public health outreach.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at The British University in Egypt announces the successful completion of the Artificial Intelligence Ambassadors Programme by Assistant Lecturer Tasnim Mahmoud, on May 2, 2026.

The programme, organised by the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI) in collaboration with Engineers for a Sustainable Egypt, is recognised as a leading national initiative for advancing artificial intelligence competencies and awareness.

The programme was successfully completed through 36 training hours and 4 hours dedicated to a practical project, encompassing artificial intelligence tools, data analysis, real-world applications, and ethical considerations. Official graduation has been attained as part of the 7th batch of the NTI AI Ambassadors Programme.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at The British University in Egypt proudly congratulates Professor Hebatallah Wagdy and Associate Professor Khaled NematAllah on their successful election to the University Senate for 2026, following the elections held on Tuesday, May 5.

The Faculty also extends its sincere appreciation to all nominees, the Senate Committee, and everyone involved in organising the election process for their efforts and commitment. We also thank all voters for their respectful and active participation.

We are confident that Professor Hebatallah Wagdy and Associate Professor Khaled NematAllah will play a valuable role in representing the Faculty and supporting the University’s ongoing pursuit of excellence and sustainability.

✨🏥 A truly inspiring Clinical Practice Workshop for Year 5 PharmD Clinical pharmacy students as part of the Clinical Pharmacy Practice module, held on Sunday 26 April 2026 under the supervision of Dr. Hadeer Ehab.

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ The faculty of Pharmacy was honoured to host Head Clinical Pharmacists and senior professionals from 9 different public and private hospitals, who shared their expertise and real-life experiences across multiple fields.

💊🧠 The talks highlighted the vital role of clinical pharmacists in various settings including ICU, oncology, research, and many other specialties—emphasising their impact on patient care, safety, and therapeutic outcomes.

📊📁 What made the workshop even more exciting was the active student participation! Students worked on real hospital patient files from different institutions, applying their knowledge, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills to identify and solve drug-related problems, as well as design appropriate monitoring plans.

🤝🌟 The workshop was a great blend of knowledge, practice, and inspiration—reinforcing the essential role of clinical pharmacists as key members of the healthcare team.

Year 4 Pharm D Clinical and Year 5 Pharm D students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, The British University in Egypt, participated in an enriching field visit to Hospice Egypt on April 29, 2026, as part of the Palliative Care elective module, under the supervision of Dr. Rana Magdy.

Students explored the hospice facility, gaining first-hand insight into multidisciplinary care services, including medical, nursing, psychosocial, and bereavement support. The experience also highlighted the importance of both home-based and inpatient hospice care, as well as the impactful role of volunteers.

The visit concluded with an interactive clinical workshop, where students engaged in real patient case discussions and applied their knowledge to recommend appropriate care plans.

This activity strengthened students’ understanding of patient-centred care, enhanced their clinical and communication skills, and supported SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). 💙

🎓💊 The workshop was highly engaging and full of valuable clinical insights, covering important topics such as addiction and substance abuse, including challenges of false positive and false negative tests 🧪❗
🧩 Students also explored schizophrenia, its clinical features, and current treatment approaches, linking theory to real-life practice.
💬 One of the most impactful parts was understanding the journey of an addiction patient and how it differs from that of a psychiatric patient, highlighting the importance of individualized care and a multidisciplinary approach 🤝
🌟 It was truly an enjoyable and enriching day, enhancing students’ clinical knowledge and appreciation for mental health care.
