2026/2027開學前師生營會│證道
破碎中「凝」前行
閉營崇拜中，署理院長葉漢浩教授以《馬太福音》4章12至17節為經文，向師生分享信息。他分享自己二十年前初入神學院時的迷惘、挫折與信仰掙扎，並如何在低谷中重新發現上主的經歷。
約翰下監：盼望中的震撼
他表示約翰勇敢宣講上帝的信息，呼召人悔改，卻最終被囚，使人不禁追問上帝的公義何在。當年《馬太福音》的讀者同樣面對聖殿被毀的危機，原本倚靠的宗教制度、身分認同和生活秩序受到衝擊，不得不重新思考自己的信仰究竟建立在甚麼之上。
葉教授指出，當所相信的人、關係或制度令人失望，現實與期望出現落差時，人容易陷入黑暗與迷惘，甚至產生內在的破裂。他分享探訪在英國之香港信徒的經歷，看見移民帶來的失落、身分轉變，以及工作與家庭上的不確定；然而，他同時看見接待與關懷、無私的服侍，以及弟兄姊妹彼此扶持。這些美善見證着破碎並非終局，上帝仍透過忠心的人工作。因此，支撐信徒前行的不只是個人的堅持，更是信仰群體的同行與互相激勵。故此，他強調即使身處黑暗、失望和破碎之中，上帝的大光仍然照耀；祂呼召人不斷悔改、重新調整眼光，按天國的價值生活，並在彼此扶持中懷着盼望繼續前行。按照《馬太福音》的理解，天國是上帝的旨意在地上實現。因此，基督徒蒙召以公義對抗不義、以憐憫回應冷漠、以誠實回應虛假、以接待回應排斥、以同行回應孤單。當人按着上帝的價值生活時，天國便在地上彰顯。
最後，葉教授以新書中的馬賽克作比喻。每個人都像一塊帶着缺口和傷痕的碎片，看似不完整，卻能在上帝手中彼此連結，拼湊成美麗的圖畫。真正的群體不是沒有破碎，而是在破碎中「凝」前行。

Moving Forward Together in Brokenness
At the Closing Service of the Term Commencement Camp, Prof. Alex H. H. Ip, the Acting Director, preached from Matthew 4:12-17, reflecting on his own early seminary experience marked by confusion, setbacks, and struggles of faith, and how he rediscovered God during a difficult season.
John’s Imprisonment: A Shock to Hope
Prof. Ip noted that although John the Baptist faithfully proclaimed God's message and called people to repentance, he was imprisoned, raising the question of where God's justice could be found. Likewise, the original readers of Matthew faced the crisis of the Temple's destruction, which challenged the foundations of their faith, identity, and way of life.
He observed that when people, relationships, or institutions disappoint us, and reality falls short of expectations, we may experience darkness, confusion, and inner brokenness. Drawing on visits to Hong Kong Christians in the United Kingdom, he shared how experiences of migration brought loss and uncertainty, yet also revealed hospitality, selfless service, and mutual care among believers. These acts of faithfulness demonstrate that brokenness is not the end, and that God continues to work through His people.
He emphasized that what sustains believers is not merely personal perseverance, but the support and encouragement of the faith community. Even amid darkness and disappointment, God's light continues to shine, calling people to repentance, renewed vision, and a life shaped by the values of the Kingdom of Heaven.
According to the Gospel of Matthew, the Kingdom of Heaven is God's will being lived out on earth. Christians are therefore called to respond with righteousness, compassion, truthfulness, hospitality, and companionship.
Drawing on the mosaic imagery from his book, Prof. Ip concluded that each person is like a broken piece that may appear incomplete on its own, yet can be joined together in God's hands to form a beautiful whole. A true community is not free from brokenness, but learns to move forward in unity amid brokenness.
