Carlow College, St. Patrick’s welcomed alumni from Ireland, the UK and the United States back to campus on 23rd July 2026 for its annual reunion.

The day began with Mass in the College Chapel, celebrated by Bishop Lawrence Duffy as he marks his Golden Jubilee year. Among those in attendance was Bishop Denis Nulty, Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin and Chair of the College’s Governing Body and Property Trustees.

Following the Mass, guests enjoyed a celebratory lunch where they were welcomed by College President, Fr Conn Ó Maoldhomhnaigh. The gathering offered an opportunity for former classmates to renew acquaintances, share experiences, and reflect on their connections to the College community.

This Sunday, Larry, our college groundskeeper, will be interviewed about Sun Stone; a striking piece of public art by German sculptor Paul Schneider, created in 1993 and is part of the Carlow Art Collection.

Located on the front lawn of Carlow College, St Patrick’s, the piece is aligned with the Summer Solstice, connecting art, place, light and landscape in a really special way.

Tune in to KCLR96FM this Sunday to hear Larry share more about this unique feature at the heart of our campus.

Carlow College, St Patrick’s is delighted to welcome the Walsh University Blouin Scholars back to campus once again.

Now in its fourth year, this valued partnership supports the exchange of faculty, students, ideas and experiences between our institutions.

This year, a group of 10 fourth-year students, accompanied by two faculty members, are spending the next few weeks in Carlow.

Their visit began with a roundtable discussion with local secondary educators, exploring the pathway from secondary school to college or career, career readiness, and ways to support long-lasting, positive student outcomes.

The group then joined our US Summer Abroad students for a cultural excursion to St Mullins and Graiguenamanagh; a wonderful opportunity to experience some of the history, heritage and beauty of the area.
