📢 Information for Parents: NCSE Parent Notification Process (2027/2028 School Year)
Do you think your child may need a Special Class or Special School place for September 2027?
The Department of Education and Youth, together with the NCSE, is asking parents and guardians to notify the NCSE as early as possible. This helps them plan the special education places and supports children need across the country. ❤️
🗓️ Important dates to remember:
✅ By 1 September 2026 — Notify the NCSE that your child requires a special class or special school place.
✅ By 15 September 2026 — Submit the required supporting documentation (or as soon as reasonably practicable if you're still waiting on reports — don't delay the notification while you wait!).
✔️ If your child meets the criteria, the NCSE will issue a Letter of Eligibility, which:

Confirms your child is eligible for a specialist placement
Should be included with applications to special classes/schools
Is valid for one school year only — a new letter is needed for future years

⚠️ A reminder: Submitting a Parent Notification does not automatically secure a school place. Parents should still apply directly to schools in line with each school's Admissions Policy.

As Davitt College Summer Camp 2026 comes to a close, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the past two weeks such a fantastic success! ☀️🎉

We finished our final day with plenty of fun and laughter, taking on the Escape Rooms, enjoying one last sing-song, and celebrating together with a well-earned pizza party. 🍕🎶🔐

Over the last two weeks, our campers have made new friends, built confidence, tried new activities, and created memories that will last a lifetime. From sports and wellbeing activities to beach trips, team-building challenges, music, mindfulness, self-defence and so much more, it has been an unforgettable experience.

A sincere thank you to our dedicated staff, mentors, guest facilitators, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make Summer Camp 2026 possible. Your enthusiasm, care and commitment made all the difference.

Finally, thank you to all our wonderful students for bringing such incredible energy, positivity and fun every single day.

🏆 Davitt College Welcomes the Irish International Taekwondo Tournament 2026! 🇮🇪🥋

We are absolutely delighted to host the Irish International Taekwondo Tournament 2026 here at Davitt College.

Over the coming days, we are proud to welcome talented athletes, dedicated coaches, supportive families and officials from across Ireland and beyond for what promises to be an exciting celebration of skill, determination and sportsmanship.

We wish every competitor the very best of luck as they step onto the mats. May your hard work, discipline and perseverance shine throughout the tournament.

🌊☀️ Davitt College Summer Camp 2026 ☀️🌊

What a fantastic day! Our students set off bright and early for an exciting trip to the beach, enjoying plenty of fresh air, fun, and unforgettable memories with friends. 🏖️🌞

After returning, everyone took part in their final self-defence lesson, putting into practice the skills, confidence, and teamwork they’ve developed throughout the camp. 💪🥋

A brilliant day from start to finish! 🌟
