The final day of the 8th International Swift Conference included a keynote address by ATU Mayo Outdoor Education graduate graduate Georgia Macmillan on dark skies, a discussion with artist and writer Gordon Darcy, traditional music with Stephen Doherty and friends and choral music from Carra Singers. A big thank you to Declan Halligan from second year History & Geography who worked so hard all week on the conference.

We had a wonderful first day at the International Swift Conference which began this morning with opening words from ATU President Dr Orla Flynn, Head of Department of Environmental Humanities Dr Deirdre Garvey, the Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council Seán Carey and Christopher O'Sullivan Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage with special responsibility for Nature, Heritage and Biodiversity. The minister is a keen bird watcher who shares the delegates enthusiasm for the swift.
