This week NMCI Training Services are delivering a 5 day Basic Liquefied Gas Tanker Cargo Operations course for our National Maritime College of Ireland - NMCI students with Fire Fighting Instructor David Dilworth.
Pictured below is an example of Precision Under Pressure - the team advances on a Class C fl**ge fire. Using coordinated water streams to deflect heat and flame away from the access point. This controlled approach creates a protected corridor for the team leader to safely reach and isolate the valve, cutting off the gas supply at the source and bringing the incident under control through disciplined teamwork, communication, and tactical firefighting principles. Well done to all.

We received a wonderful thank you card from the pupils of Scoil Barra Naofa, Monkstown following their recent visit to NMCI. Filled with colourful messages and signed by the entire class, it was a thoughtful gesture that brightened our day.
Our sincere thanks to Ms Wales and her class for taking the time to send such a kind note. It is greatly appreciated by the team.
Engaging with our local community is an important part of NMCI Training Services, and we are committed to encouraging young students to recognise the opportunities available to them, particularly when such a unique facility is located on their doorstep.
We hope the visit left a lasting impression, and we would be delighted to welcome a few familiar faces back to National Maritime College of Ireland - NMCI as cadets in the years ahead.

Delighted to announce that NMCI Training Services has been formally approved by the Marine Survey Office, under the Irish Maritime Administration, for the delivery of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB) training 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

This approval marks a significant milestone — the first of its kind in the EU to incorporate advanced simulation technology into PSCRB delivery, fully aligned with International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) requirements.

By integrating simulation into the training model, we are:

➡️Reducing on-site contact time;

➡️Reducing costs;

➡️Enhancing learning outcomes through immersive, scenario-based training;

➡️Increasing training throughput without compromising standards.

This approach directly supports Workstream 8 of the Offshore Wind Energy Programme, developed by the Offshore Wind Delivery Taskforce — particularly the need to scale training capacity and deliver more efficient pathways for critical safety certification such as PSCRB.

This is a strong example of how innovation in training delivery can respond to both regulatory requirements and industry demand, particularly as Ireland accelerates its offshore wind ambitions.

Pictured below is the NMCI Training Services team in front of the new simulation equipment, now fully operational.
