The University of Puerto Rico School of Pharmacy’s primary mission is to prepare pharmacists who will serve and improve the health-related needs of society, with special emphasis on the population of Puerto Rico. Among its goals are to foster the integration of knowledge based on professional practice experience in a systematic ability based curriculum which incorporates the following areas: biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, behavioral, social and administrative pharmacy sciences; pharmacy practice and general education. The School offers programs at the professional and graduate levels targeted to improve the effective and safe use of medications. In addition, the School promotes excellence in education, research and service in an environment of respect and commitment. The School offers the following academic programs: Doctor of Pharmacy Program, Graduate Programs (Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences) and Pharmacy Residency Programs. Services provided by the School include a Medication Therapy Management Clinic, the Pharmacy Museum and Medicinal Plants Garden, and the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies, among others.
