This week, Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest is pleased to welcome Professor Anna Kozłowska from the School of Medicine University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, as part of an Erasmus+ teaching mobility.

During the visit, students and academic staff have the opportunity to attend lectures and engage in academic discussions focused on current research topics and scientific methodologies. These valuable exchanges foster international collaboration, encourage the sharing of academic expertise and best practices, and enrich the learning experience of our university community.

We are grateful for this opportunity to strengthen our partnership with the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn and to further promote the internationalization of higher education through the Erasmus+ Programme.

From 12 to 16 October, Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest welcomed Defne Dizlek Bayraktar and Çiğdem Erdem, faculty members from the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences at Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi, as part of an Erasmus+ teaching mobility.

During their stay, they delivered academic sessions on nursing education and patient care, addressing topics such as Romania’s healthcare system and the management of kidney transplant patients. Our students gained valuable insights into pre- and post-operative care, immunosuppressive therapy, and the support provided to transplant recipients.

The guests also visited TMU’s Medical Campus, where they were welcomed by Lecturer Florentina Delca Bealcu, PhD.

We sincerely thank our colleagues for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our students and academic community. We hope they enjoyed their time here, at Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest!

The Academic Bridge Foundation officially launched with a gala held at the Romanian Athenaeum, bringing together prominent figures from the academic community, representatives of public life and international alumni of Romanian universities around a shared vision: strengthening the ties between Romania and the international community through education.

We are delighted to share that Titu Maiorescu University was part of this special occasion, represented by Assoc. Prof. Geanina Silviana Banu, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Relations.

Founded by Prince Dimitrie Sturdza and Miron Andrada-Nicol and led by Prof. Ecaterina Andronescu, PhD, Academic Bridge brings together generations of international alumni who studied in Romania, reconnecting a community shaped by a shared academic experience.

The Foundation also aims to create scholarship and mentoring opportunities for future generations of students, while strengthening academic and institutional cooperation.

Our presence at this event reinforces our commitment to international dialogue and cooperation, as well as our interest in developing long-lasting academic partnerships.

On October 12th–13th, Titu Maiorescu University had the pleasure of welcoming Professor Emre Ünal from Fırat University, Türkiye, for an Erasmus+ teaching mobility at the Faculty of Economic Sciences.

During his visit, Professor Ünal delivered a captivating lecture titled “Global Drivers of the Bitcoin Price” to our second-year Finance and Business Administration students. Together, we analyzed the complex macroeconomic and technological factors influencing the market value of the world’s leading cryptocurrency.

The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A, highlighting our students’ keen interest and enthusiasm for this highly relevant financial topic.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Professor Ünal for his valuable insights, engaging presentation and openness to dialogue! Erasmus+ mobilities continue to bring exceptional value to our educational initiatives and the broader academic community here at TMU.

🇷🇴 The wait is over! Today, we welcomed our incoming Erasmus+ students to Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest!

It was a great opportunity to meet our new students, exchange first impressions and help them take their first steps towards an exciting international experience. Assoc. Prof. Geanina Banu, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Relations, together with Lecturer Iulia Buză, PhD, Sandra Vasilescu, Alexandra Mihalcea and Izabela Ungureanu from our International Relations Department, welcomed the students and shared useful advice on studying, living and making the most of their time in Bucharest.

The students also had the chance to explore our campus and get to know the university they will call home in the coming months.

We look forward to seeing them build friendships, discover new opportunities and make the most of their Erasmus+ experience. Welcome to Titu Maiorescu University, we’re happy to have you with us!

Titu Maiorescu University joins the COMUF-UVSQ Network!

Titu Maiorescu University strengthens its international dimension by joining the COMUF-UVSQ Network, the Multidisciplinary Consortium of Francophone Universities, coordinated by the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ), a founding member of Université Paris-Saclay.

The COMUF-UVSQ Network brings together Francophone universities around a shared vision of ambitious, structured and sustainable academic cooperation, promoting student and knowledge mobility, shared educational and scientific resources, joint research projects and academic programmes.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Prof. Daniel Cochior, MD, PhD, Rector of Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest, and Prof. Loïc Josseran, President of UVSQ, opening new opportunities for joint initiatives in fields such as health, law, economics, engineering, technology, environment and social sciences and humanities.

Through this new partnership, TMU reaffirms its commitment to international academic cooperation, research and the promotion of Francophone values.

A special moment during the Opening Ceremony of the 2026–2027 Academic Year was the online presence of two valued international partners: Leonardo Andrade, Director of Europe at QS Quacquarelli Symonds, and Ewelina Widerska, Coordinator of the Q-Helix Alliance and representative of WSB University in Poland Akademia WSB - WSB University.

Leonardo Andrade joined us as we are celebrating Titu Maiorescu University’s overall 4 QS Stars rating, awarded following a rigorous multidimensional evaluation. Ewelina Widerska’s presence highlighted the importance of the Q-Helix Alliance as a space for interdisciplinary collaboration, international exchange and new opportunities for students and academic communities.

We thank them both for sharing this meaningful occasion with us and for their continued support. Both guests joined us throughout the entire ceremony, and together we celebrated a new beginning for our students. Their presence reflected our strong commitment to quality, internationalisation and partnerships that create new opportunities for our entire academic community.

It’s time! Yesterday, Titu Maiorescu University came alive with the energy and excitement of a new academic year as students from Romania and around the world gathered to begin a new chapter!

The Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 Academic Year brought together distinguished members of the Executive Board, the Senate and the Administrative Council, representatives from the academic, medical, cultural and scientific fields, as well as teaching staff, researchers, undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students.

The year ahead will be shaped by education, excellence and innovation, ambitious projects, international collaborations and an academic community that continues to grow stronger and more united.

Following the official ceremony, our international students attended a dedicated session where they received useful information about their study programmes and guidance for the academic year ahead.

Titu Maiorescu University of Bucharest earns 4-Star university status following QS Stars evaluation!

The evaluation process ran for about six months and covered all 10 faculties, support services, and UTM’s management.

According to the evaluation report, TMU’s overall rating, QS ★★★★ (“Very Good”), corresponds to a university that has achieved international recognition for its high standards. Institutions with this rating attract students and faculty from around the world and create a diverse environment for advanced learning and development (“Four Star-rated universities have already achieved international recognition for their high standards.
