🌍🌱 GREEN FINANCE Week at the University of Twente | 13–16 October 2026
An inspiring week of international collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capacity building in sustainable finance!
From 13 to 16 October 2026, the University of Twente, the Netherlands, hosted the Transnational Project Meeting and Training Sessions of the GREEN FINANCE – Advancing Higher Education for Sustainable Growth in Southeast Asia project, co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme.
🤝 The event brought together 38 participants from 11 institutions across 8 countries, strengthening academic partnerships between Europe and Southeast Asia.
📌 The first two days (13–14 October) were dedicated to the Transnational Project Meeting, providing an excellent opportunity to discuss project progress, coordinate upcoming activities, and reinforce our shared commitment to advancing green finance education.
🎓 The training sessions (15–16 October) focused on three key dimensions of sustainable finance:
🔹 Module 1 – Fundamentals and Building Blocks, delivered by Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania.
🔹 Module 4 – Green Finance Risk Management, delivered by the University of Twente, the Netherlands.
🔹 Module 5 – Investing with Purpose, delivered by the University of Siena, Italy, exploring asset allocation frameworks incorporating ESG benchmarks and sustainability preferences.
These sessions encouraged valuable exchanges of expertise and practical approaches to integrating sustainability into financial education, risk management, and investment decisions.
💚 Beyond the academic activities, the week offered wonderful opportunities for networking, intercultural dialogue, and building lasting professional connections.
A special thank you to Prof. Joerg Osterrieder and the University of Twente team for their warm hospitality and excellent organization, and to all project partners for their engagement and contributions!
We are proud that Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu plays an active role in this international initiative, contributing to the development of green finance education and supporting the transition towards a more sustainable future.
