菲律賓視覺藝術家 Celline Mercado 將分享她的生命經驗與創作歷程，探討自身日本血統、移民勞工家庭背景，以及菲律賓的殖民歷史如何形塑她對移民、勞動與身分認同的關注。從童年對繪畫的熱愛、疫情期間展開藝術創作，到赴澳深造，她將介紹如何逐步發展出以包裹與懸掛形式呈現的軟雕塑裝置，交織個人記憶與殖民遺產。
Filipino visual artist Celline Mercado shares her life and art practice. Born and raised in the Philippines, Mercado discusses how her Japanese heritage, descending from a family of migrant labourers, and growing up amid Western colonial influences shaped an art practice concerned with migration, labour, and colonial legacies. Mercado will trace her journey from being a child with a penchant for drawing, to beginning an art practice during the COVID-19 pandemic, to moving to Melbourne, Australia, to pursue further studies, culminating in the development of her signature wrapped and suspended sculptural installations.
