You are invited to attend a presentation by Dr. Dawn Ford of the Climate Reality Leadership Corp. and Adjunct Faculty at UTC, followed by a panel discussion with local climate leaders including Charlie Mix from UTC's IGT Lab, David Hoot from the local chapter of the Sierra Club, Madison Rollings from the City of Chattanooga's Office of Sustainability, Drs. John Tucker and Sean Richards from UTC's Environmental Science program, and Dr. Lucy Schultz from UTC's Environmental Studies program. Learn about the latest climate science, how climate change is affecting our region, and what we--as a community--can do in response. This event is open to the public. This event focuses on the importance of dark skies and how you can make changes that will contribute to darker night skies in Chattanooga. It will be a night of education, activities and star gazing, and is a partnership between the Barnard Astronomical Society and the UTC Clarence T. Jones Observatory. This is a National Park City event that will also involve Outdoor Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Audubon Society, and the City of Chattanooga Department of Parks and Outdoors. This is a free event and members of the Barnard Astronomical Society will have their telescopes available for viewing objects in the night sky. We hope to see you there!
