Dr. Haddock, the interim assistant dean, shared the following to all students today. Happy Nurses Week, Nursing Hornets!🐝

Today marks the beginning of Nurses Week, and you've probably noticed the surfing-themed decorations and sign that says "Nurses Make Waves". Nurses bring unique skills and perspectives to healthcare. Our voices are essential in shaping decisions and improving patient outcomes. As nurses, you have the power to impact lives in a meaningful way. What may begin as a small ripple can grow into a powerful wave of change.

I encourage each of you to take a moment (in between studying) to pause and reflect on the incredible profession you are about to enter. There are few careers that offer the privilege of walking alongside people during both their best moments and their most difficult ones.

As you prepare for your final exams, remember your why. You are not just studying to earn a degree or secure a job. You are preparing to save lives. Nursing will open countless doors and provide opportunities to make a lasting difference in the lives of your patients and their families. It is truly an honor to be part of this profession.

Happy Nurses Week....now go make waves!
