🦂 Scorpions of the Week 🦂

Congratulations to this week’s Cross Country Scorpions of the Week!

At the Highlander Invitational, hosted by UC Riverside, Semaj and Julianna each capped the regular season with new school records, continuing their streak of setting new personal bests each race.

Women’s 6k School Record: Julianna Ondrisko (23:11.7)

Men’s 8k School Record: Semaj Hall (28:25.4)

Building something special! That’s exactly what Scorpions Cross Country proved today at the last race of the regular season. Fourteen of 15 runners set personal bests, with Julianna Ondrisko and Semaj Hall setting official school records in the women’s 6k (23:11.7) and the men’s 8k (28:25.4), respectively. Julianna finished 21st out of 121 runners and Semaj finished 96th out of 159 runners.

The inaugural season goal of getting better each week and building momentum as a brand new program has been met.

“I am super proud of our teams,” said Head Coach Roy Session. “They ran today the way they have been training.”

Congratulations to every one of our student athletes who set the standard for our program moving forward!

Next up, GSAC conference championships on Nov. 6.

The Highlander Invitational, the last race of the regular season for Scorpions Cross Country’s inaugural year, takes place this morning in Riverside, CA at UC Riverside. Go out and finish strong, Scorpions!

Scorpions Cross Country will wrap up its inaugural regular season this week before the conference championships next month. The Highlander Invitational, hosted by UC Riverside, is Saturday, Oct. 17. Good luck to all of our runners as they look to finish the season strong and head into the championships with momentum!

🦂 SCORPIONS OF THE WEEK 🦂

Congratulations to this week’s Cross Country Scorpions of the Week!

Monica and Ahmaree each set new personal bests at The Master’s University Invitational in Santa Clarita, CA over the weekend. In the Women’s 6k, Monica finished third on the team with a time of 27:37.6, beating her previous personal best by more than two and a half minutes. In the Men’s 8k, Ahmaree finished with a time of 29:58.1, beating his previous personal best by more than one minute and 45 seconds and was the second Scorpion to cross the finish line.

Both runners are examples of how Nevada State’s teams have pushed themselves to be better each week of this inaugural cross country season.
