We are proud to announce that 2 of our nursing alumni got an article published in the Nursing & Health Sciences Research Journal 2025. Eliza Barnhart Burkholder (BSN '09; MSN '14) and Ellie Barnhart Butsch (BSN '11; MSN '15) co-wrote with other colleagues "The Impact of Awake Prone Positioning in the Patient with Covid-19." As per Ellie & Eliza - "the research team investigated the impact of awake prone positioning in patients with COVID-19. While there was no statistically significant decrease in ICU transfers or incidence of endotracheal intubation, there were valuable findings that help clinicians understand more about those impacted with COVID-19, the positive impact of awake prone positioning from a patient and nurse perspective, and the opportunity for further research on the topic.
