Dreaming of studying or interning abroad but worried about the cost?

The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for Pell Grant–eligible undergraduate students to participate in an international study or internship program.

Join one of our virtual info sessions to learn more about eligibility, the application process, essay requirements, upcoming deadlines, and the support available to help you prepare a strong application.

We have some great events coming up to help you get ready for the STEM Fair! Swipe to see what's on the calendar, then head to Handshake to register!

Up first, Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, one of our STEM fair employers, will be on campus on September 8th. Catch their info table in the Plaster 3rd Floor Study Alcove from 8am-11:30am, or join them for lunch in Flarsheim 337 from noon-1pm to learn about their organization and open positions.

Then, on September 9th, we'll have another STEM fair employer and campus regular, Evergy, at Flarsheim 337 from noon-1pm to help you prepare for the fair.
Our STEM Fair resume blitz will also be held on September 9th, from 10am-3pm, in the Flarsheim Toyota Room. Drop by to have your resume reviewed by some of the employers who will be at the fair.

Finally, on September 14th, you'll have another chance to meet some STEM fair employers at our Networking in the 816 event from 3-4pm in the Flarsheim Toyota Room.

These events are made to help you walk into the STEM fair feeling confident and ready to land a job!

We’re kicking off a semester of big updates with announcement #1: Information Services (IS) is officially taking over the laptop loaner program!

Here’s what you need to know:
💠 Same program: Laptops are still available on a first-come, first-served basis for the entire Fall or Spring semester.
💠Availability: IS hopes to have laptops ready for checkout at the end of the second week of the fall semester. Laptops can be requested via the laptop checkout form on the IS Laptop Loaner webpage: https://buff.ly/MoUclVp

We hope this change helps streamline the experience for students by removing the middleman and making things like software installation requests much more efficient.

Is your student looking for an on-campus job, a crucial summer internship, or their first post-graduation career role? Fall career fair registration is officially open at UMKC!

Career fairs are one of the best ways for students to network with top employers, practice their pitch, and secure opportunities. Encouraging your Roo to register early gives them a head start on researching employers and open roles so they can walk in feeling confident.

Here is the Fall 2025 lineup to keep on your radar:

🗓️ Aug 26 | Work Study, On Campus, & Part-Time Jobs Fair (Pierson Auditorium, 11 AM - 1 PM)
🗓️ Sep 15 | STEM Career Fair (Swinney Rec Center, 10 AM - 2 PM)
🗓️ Sep 29 | Job & Internship Fair (Pierson Auditorium, 10 AM - 1 PM)
🗓️ Oct 06 | Nursing Career Fair (Pierson Auditorium, 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM)

This event celebrated UMKC students who applied for nationally and internationally competitive awards and recognized the courage, time, and effort it takes to put yourself forward for these opportunities.

A special thank you to the faculty, mentors, advisors, committee members, and campus partners who supported students throughout the application process. These applications take a community, and we are grateful for everyone who helped encourage our students along the way.
