Today we give a shout out to Chris Breshears and his Boulder Falls Inn team. They hosted a free baked potato appreciation luncheon for all WesternU students and employees. Why? Because if you bake it.... they will come. Because, like a good neighbor.... Chris Breshears is there. Chris appreciates his community partners, and he thought that perhaps offering free food would be appreciated. The answer, is of course, shmigabohoie, or how yes might sound with a baked potato in your mouth while answering. Thanks Boulder Falls! We appreciate you!

WesternU Oregon held the Fall Club Day 2026 for both HCOM and CHS-Northwest today outside on the lawn. The weather was perfect and the mood vibrant! Thank you to all of the WesternU Oregon students who represented the more than 30 clubs present.

At HCOM today one of the afternoon courses was Clinical Medicine and Reasoning. Some of today's topics included the intro to vital signs, physical exam and medical equipment.

WesternU Oregon Population Health faculty and students participated in the Sweet Home Community Health Fair this past Saturday, providing community education focused on nutrition, health literacy, and physical activity. This event provides an important opportunity for students to practice health education, communication, prevention, and community engagement while strengthening WesternU's partnership with the Sweet Home community.

COMPanion Program lunch.

The COMPanion program was created by the Office of Student Affairs to help incoming medical students transition into life at HCOM and Lebanon by connecting them with an experienced 2nd year peer mentor. Each COMPanion has valuable, recent, firsthand knowledge of the challenges and joys of medical school, and have volunteered to share their wisdom and advice with a COMPanion mentee.

OPSO (Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon) hosted the annual OPSO Bash last night at River Park in Lebanon to introduce and connect the new HCOM students to our state's amazing osteopathic organization. OPSO helps connect students with physicians as mentors and more. It also represents the profession in Salem and Washington DC and furthers physician education. A shout out to the DREAM program participants who joined the event.
