Our Saint Francis University Community Blanketeers have collected an incredible 3,816 blankets over the past 20 years. This year 318 blankets are being distributed through local hospitals, the Healing Patch Children's Grief Program and Nurse-Family Partnership by Home Nursing Agency, and local fire companies. Celebrating its 20th year, the Saint Francis University Community Blanketeers project has collected an incredible 3,816 blankets over the years, providing warmth and comfort to sick and needy children in the local area. The blankets are distributed through local hospitals, the Healing Patch and Nurse Family Partnership (Home Nursing Agency), and local fire companies. As we celebrate 20 years of this meaningful tradition, we are grateful to everyone who has helped make the Blanketeer program a lasting source of comfort, care, and community support for local children.

Preparing to care for others starts with understanding the challenges they face. ❤️

At Saint Francis University’s Poverty Simulation, students from nursing, physical therapy, social work, occupational therapy, and public health came together to explore how limited resources can shape everyday decisions about housing, healthcare, and family needs.

The experience encouraged future healthcare and social service professionals to reflect on empathy, collaboration, and the dignity of every person, putting our Franciscan values into practice.

Healing Patch in-school grief support groups, known as Patch Clubs, are forming in local school districts!

Patch Clubs allow us to reach more grieving children right where they are, providing a safe and supportive space to connect, share, and remember their significant person.

Students at Greater Johnstown Elementary School enjoyed receiving their comfort bags today and decorating memorial picture frames in honor of someone special to them.

We are grateful to Mid-Penn Region Charities , Saint Francis University Blanketeers, and the United Way of the Southern Alleghenies for helping make this initiative possible. Thank you for supporting grieving children in our community! 💙
