Tardy. In 1944, the name was changed to East Texas Baptist College when we reached four year status, and again in 1984 when we reached University status. This is for all Alums to know what it happening on the Hill. Here is to our next 100 years!

Celebrating the Tyndale New Testament at 500
A special ETBU Homecoming Presentation & Viewing
Jarrett Learning Center, Fenton Honors Hall
Saturday, October 31st, 11:00am-11:15am

Join us in celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Tyndale New Testament with a brief presentation by an ETBU librarian exploring the history and significance of this rare biblical treasure from the Lance Fenton Rare Bible Collection. Following the presentation, guests will have the opportunity to view the volume up close.

The Tyndale Bible and other rare Bibles from the Fenton Collection will be on display in Fenton Honors Hall, located in the Jarrett Learning Center, during ETBU Homecoming Weekend. Visitors are welcome Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

We are praying for you as you faithfully serve, shepherd, teach, encourage, and minister to the people God has placed in your care. Ministry is both a great calling and a great responsibility, and we are grateful for the ways you are sharing the love of Christ and making an eternal impact in your churches and communities. Your faithfulness matters, and we are thankful for the ways God is using you to make a difference for His Kingdom!

🌟 ROARING ON | Stacy & Lorre (Carruth) Kauffman ('89)

Some Tiger stories begin on the Hill... and continue for a lifetime.

Stacy and Lorre (Carruth) Kauffman met and fell in love while attending ETBU and have now been married for nearly 37 years. Today they call Sugar Land, Texas, home, where they continue to faithfully serve in their church, their professions, and their community.

Stacy serves as a Senior Consultant with Indigo Beam, providing Information Technology solutions using the accounting foundation he received at ETBU. He also serves as chairman of the elders and teaches Sunday School at University Park Baptist Church.

Lorre, a retired church administrator, enjoys volunteering in her church's finance department, editing, and making frequent trips to East Texas to spend time with their children and grandchildren.

Together, they have raised a family that shares their love for ETBU. Their daughters, Madison Collier (13, 15’) and Mallory Bradley (18, 19’), both earned their undergraduate and master's degrees from ETBU, while their son, Kurt, graduated from Houston Christian University.

💙💛 "ETBU and the individuals who invested time in us while we were in school there helped shape who we have become, how we raised our family, and why we serve people and Jesus. We love ETBU and the opportunity it provides to young adults."

Thank you, Stacy and Lorre, for faithfully living out Christ's calling and for continuing to invest in the next generation. Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger! 🐅

Did you know you don’t have to be an Honor Class to participate in a Decade Reunion at ETBU Homecoming?!

Here’s how it works:

🎓 Honor Classes celebrate milestone reunions at their 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, and 50th anniversaries.

🎉 Decade Reunions are open to ALL alumni who graduated within that decade—not just the Honor Class!

For example, even though the Class of 2016 is our 10-Year Honor Class in 2026, ALL graduates from the 2010s are invited to the 2010s Decade Reunion!

So, call your college friends, spread the word, and make plans to come home to the Hill! We have a weekend full of opportunities to reconnect, reminisce, and make new memories.

Ms. Denedra Taylor (‘20) earned her bachelor's degree in psychology while here on the Hill and would later go on to earn a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Currently, Denedra has been called to serve as an educator and sports coach while pursuing further post-graduate licensure as a mental health therapist.

“Some of my favorite memories include the guidance and influence of Dr. Obi, Dr. Reeves, Professor Alonzo, Dr. L. Smith, Dr. Hillman, Dr. Mobley, and Coach Arbogast.”
