Audition materials for the Northwest Missouri State Wind Symphony, Northwest’s auditioned concert band, are now available on our website! Students of all majors are welcome to audition. Scholarship funding may be available for trumpet, horn, and double reed players.

Northwest Wind Symphony performed their final concert of the semester alongside the Lewis Central High School Symphonic Band on Tuesday evening, and both bands were 🔥🔥🔥🔥

We are so proud of all this studio has accomplished this year! Congratulations to all of our wonderful flutists for their musical, professional, and personal accomplishments. A special shoutout goes to senior Music Education major, Michaela Broadwell, who opted to join the flute studio this semester to better prepare her for student teaching in the fall. Best of luck, Michaela! We are so proud of you and excited for you! 👏

Congratulations concert band flutists and studio members on a wonderful concert this past Tuesday! ✨✨

Several studio members studying music education chose to perform on secondary instruments (Zoe, percussion; Kayla, trumpet; Mariah, percussion), and many others had the opportunity to join the percussion section for a piece with an expansive percussion part, “Foundry”. Big congratulations to Mariah for her excellent conducting of this ensemble, and congratulations to Leah for performing her last ever concert band concert!

Big things happening in the Northwest Flute Studio! 🙌

And yes, Mariah was absolutely here for the studio picture and was definitely NOT badly cropped in the photo.. why do you ask? 😶

WAY TO GO sophomore music education majors, Kayla and Zoe, for their wonderfully musical performances today! Zoe performed her first solo on piccolo, and Kayla performed Syrinx from memory 🔥🔥🔥
