Arm tension getting in the way of playing effortlessly and with ease? Sound feeling a bit “stiff” or not responding in the way you’d like? A pool noodle can help release that tension and open our sound with ease! ✨

Perks of joining the Northwest Flute Studio:
1. Understanding the *how* behind flute playing 🎶
2. Building life-long friendships that support you through your biggest moments ✨

Congratulations to our very own, Audrey, on her marriage this summer! We love seeing flute studio members sharing such special moments with each other 🫶

Zoe has been killing it in expanding her range, so we decided to really focus in on the high register and learn Density 21.5 this semester. High D’s galore! Here we’re using the exercise ball to “sit into” our high register, ground ourselves, and release the tension that can appear in our upper body as we play at the top of our range.

Brava, Zoe! 🙌

Who else has found success by lying on the floor or sitting on an exercise ball?! Isaiah Schieber had an awesome lesson this week with body mapping and exploration 🙌
