Nodaway County First Responder Foundation

Our ultimate goal is to provide a better, happier holiday season for local children while also easing the ever-growing financial burden on families.

The Nodaway County First Responder Foundation, formerly Santa Cops for Kids, is a Nodaway County (MO) based non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of local underprivileged youth through various charitable acts. Santa Cops for Kids, founded in 2013, is a partnership between multiple Nodaway County law enforcement agencies geared toward brightening the holiday experience of area children-in-need. Every year, law enforcement officers dedicate countless hours to fundraising efforts, including the Santa Cops for Kids - Putting for Presents Golf Tournament, which helps fund the program's year-end shopping event. During the event, uniformed law enforcement officers escort area children Christmas shopping, purchasing a plethora of items in the process - everything from toys and clothing to various food related products. Agencies involved in our year-round efforts include: Maryville Department of Public Safety, the Nodaway County Sheriff's Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Northwest Missouri State University Police Department.

Good morning, folks!

We have a bit of news to pass along regarding our annual Putting for Presents Golf Tournament, which serves as the Foundation's primary fundraiser. Unfortunately, due to low registration and sponsorship numbers, this year's event has been cancelled. Our golf tournament has become increasingly difficult to rely on as the Foundation's lone fundraising endeavor, especially when we've striven to keep it affordable for our participants. We've taken a ton of pride in the fact that our tournament, in comparison to most others, did not price people out of participating. The unfortunate reality is, while we've had to raise prices slightly, interest in the tournament has dwindled SIGNIFICANTLY. It goes without saying - those two things are not conducive to sustainability as a small non-profit.

So, with ALL of that said, it's back to the drawing board for the Nodaway County First Responder Foundation family, as well as our old Santa Cops for Kids tag-alongs. We greatly appreciate your support, and look to continue supporting the youth of Nodaway County for years to come. As our motto goes, this truly is OUR community, and it is an absolute blessing and an honor to serve its people.
