Join the CMU Department of Teacher and Special Education for a day of professional learning at their on-campus event, Fired Up for Teaching & Learning, on June 24! Attend a variety of sessions that will explore topics ranging from early childhood to adolescence, led by TSE faculty, doctoral candidates, and guest speakers.

Two of our CEHS faculty, Dr. Troy Hicks and Dr. Chad Waldron, were invited to spend two weeks in Xi'an, China, where they participated in an academic exchange at the School of Foreign Studies at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³ While there, they taught two doctoral seminars, English writing, and delivered lectures for faculty and graduate students, and explored more of Xi'an's culture! Congratulations to Fashion Merchandising & Design Professor, Dr. Seung-Eun (Joy) Lee, on receiving the 2026 Award for Best Oral Presentation from the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles (KSCT)! Her presentation, "Building AI literacy in a fashion marketing course: pedagogical implications" focused on the use of AI in CMU's FMD 410 course and was presented at the 2026 International Conference on Clothing and Textiles (ICCT) this past May. πŸ”₯☝

Founded in 1976, the KSCT is the largest representative professional and academic association in the fashion and apparel science field in Korea, with participation from more than 4,000 domestic and foreign members.

What was once home to Alumni Field and Theunissen Stadium, the open space between Finch Fieldhouse and the Health Professions building is now officially dedicated as the Otteman Memorial Greenspace! The CMU community recently gathered to celebrate this dedication and Otteman's lifetime giving to CMU, including a legacy gift pledge of $100,000. Fire Up Forever! πŸ”₯☝️
