Establish your good habits now! Here are some helpful tips for navigating cleaning with a roommate

🗑️ Trash doesn’t disappear! Take it out before it starts smelling

🍽️ Don’t let dishes become décor. Wash them after you use them.

🧽 Wipe it down. Counters, sinks, tables, and appliances need regular attention.

🚿 If you’re in an apartment or suite - Keep the bathroom fresh. Clean the sink, toilet, shower, and floor regularly.

🧹 Sweep & vacuum often. Dirt and dust build up FAST in shared spaces.

🧴 Clean spills immediately. Future-you will thank you.

🍕 Don’t leave food out. It can attract bugs and unwanted roommates.

🛏️ Keep your personal space tidy. A clean room makes the whole space feel better.

🧼 Disinfect high-touch areas. Door handles, light switches, faucets, and shared appliances get a lot of use.

🤝🏾 Divide the chores. Decide who cleans what instead of assuming your roommate will handle it.

📅 Make a weekly reset. 20–30 minutes of cleaning can prevent a weekend-long deep clean.

We understand that this may be a difficult and deeply personal decision. Before making your transition, please review the housing requirements and understand the steps you need to take.

📅 Leave before the end of the term
🌸 Do not plan to return for the spring semester

Please remember: Housing contracts cover the full academic year.

If you are leaving campus, completing the proper checkout process is essential. Simply leaving your room or failing to notify Housing does not cancel your contract or eliminate any remaining charges.

Please contact Housing for guidance and complete all required steps so you can move forward with clarity and avoid unnecessary charges.

🚨 THE HOUSING WAITLIST IS REOPENING! 🚨

The waitlist reopens TODAY, August 13 at 12 PM CST.

A quick but important reminder: joining the waitlist does NOT guarantee a housing assignment. Placement will depend on the number of cancellations, no-shows, and spaces that become available.

BUT… this is not our first rodeo when it comes to managing a housing waitlist. 🤠🏠

As soon as no-show spaces are confirmed, our team will begin processing waitlisted students into those available spaces. We’ll work through the list as quickly as possible and communicate assignments as spaces become available.
