Toilet paper and paper towels aren't recyclable BUT the cardboard role inside is! You can also drop off the plastic covering for recycling (if clean and dry) in the shopping bag take-back containers at either Food Lion or Harris Teeter next to CNU. This recycling tip is brought to you straight from Keep America Beautiful! For more tips on ways to beautify your community check out their page!

When is comes to dinner plans it's important to consider the impact of your choices. Try visiting a local Farmer's Market for some local produce like this graphic from Sandia Seed Company suggests. It'll be a fun experience and a sustainable choice!

This is national Drinking Water Week and to celebrate we're going to talk about the drinking water right here in Hampton Roads!

The water comes from the Chickahominy River and is then pumped into one of the two water treatment plants for the area. The treated water meets all state and federal standards for contaminant levels. The treatment plants also add small amounts of fluoride to help prevent tooth decay.

If you're interested in learning more about local water quality, check out the official Newport News Water Quality Report linked below.
