Speaking of Halloween organ music!! Pipedreams!

. . . even if things do ‘go bump in the night’, don’t bump our players while they’re performing!

Unfortunately, the OU organ studio will not offer our traditional Pipescreams concert on 31 October due to campus-wide closures and rules regarding events during scheduled football games, as the 31st is a game day.

Despite our disappointment, we hope to return in force next autumn for even more seasonally spooky amazing organ music.
Thank you for your understanding and see you at our other organ events!! 🎃👻🎃

A lovely studio recital of Bach and Mendelssohn last evening at St. John's Episcopal Church - Norman, OK!

We are so grateful for the welcome, and look forward to giving future studio recitals based on music from Advent and Lent.

Finally…the first pipes are being voiced! Sol is preparing the Choir Viola, here putting a skive on the upper lip. Pipes that have already been prepped can be seen in the background with their Ortloff Red beards. Once all the prep work is done, another couple days of tiny adjustments to each pipe will see the stop fully voiced.

Join us next Wednesday with Dr. Samuel Backman!

We will discuss how Durufle’s training in a pseudo-monastic choir school in Rouen would later impact his activity as a virtuoso organist and as a renowned if reluctant composer.
