We often take time to emphasize the special way in which our students, faculty, and staff bond and grow every semester. The examples are truly countless, but we are taking a moment to feature a very special instance from this past Saturday afternoon.
Yes, Saturday.
Saturday afternoon the EKU Agriculture Department's own Dr. Barbara Jones drove out to the farm to meet with any student who is showing a dairy heifer in the upcoming "Little NAILE" livestock exhibition. She took her time to show these students everything she could about showmanship and trimming up their animal counterpart to make an impact during the show.
Dr. Jones certainly did not have to do this, but if you were to mention it she'd tell you it would be a disservice to these awesome students to not help them. She knows they're busy enough with their full course loads through the week, so she made time to work with them when it would work with their schedules .
I can tell you as a dairy manager watching these students take it all in yesterday and Dr. Jones working in her element that it would inspire anyone and the EKU difference is undeniable.
Thank you, Dr. Jones and all of our students for taking this time out of your beautiful Fall Saturday to remind us here at the farm what EKU is all about. Anyone who wants to see these students show off what they've learned can come out Saturday morning on October 31 at the farm. It's always a great time.
