Visiting Artists, Designers, and Scholars Series visit by Anna Tsouhlarakis! This inaugural talk for academic year 2026-7 is in conjunction with the current exhibit, Linear Irregularities, at Carolla Arts Exhibition Center, and this going to be great. The talk is next Tuesday, August 25, 6 pm. at the eFactory Idea Loft (enter on the Jefferson side due to construction), and is free and open to the public--join us!

New exhibitions at the Brick City Galleries and Carolla Arts Exhibition Center, opening August 3. As our local community honors its historic role in the centennial celebration of Route 66, Linear Irregularities and Crossroads each ask you to consider perspectives that are less often acknowledged in the story of Route 66 and in the larger narrative of our country. Working within the tension of being rooted to place and generations of displacement, works from Anna Tsouhlarakis, Molly Murphy Adams, Mona Cliff, and Natani Notah collectively explore the intertwining of culture, identity, and histories of Native women living and working in the Midwest.

美國密蘇里州立大學（MSU）與臺南藝術大學應用藝術研究所的交流始於2000年代初期，金工與首飾組由 Sarah Perkins與徐玫瑩兩位老師共同推動。多年來，兩位老師投入大量心力與專業，開啟了教學、駐校創作、學術交流與學生交換等多元合作，也為兩校建立了深厚且持續至今的友誼。

Sarah Perkins曾於2002、2007、2016、2019年等多次來到南藝大授課與駐校創作。她在琺瑯與鍛敲領域的創作與教學，啟發了許多校友的藝術視野，也為他們日後的創作實踐奠定重要基礎。這些年來，雙方老師持續鼓勵學生前往彼此的校園交流，那些面對文化差異、語言挑戰與創作困境的經歷，隨著時間沉澱，成為許多人學生時期最珍貴的養分與回憶☺️

其後，MSU金工工作室由 Jina Seo接任主持。雖然交流曾因COVID-19疫情而暫時中斷，但雙方於2023年重新恢復往來，且在過去三年間互動更加頻繁密切。期間，也獲得2014年曾來臺交換的 Lillian Fitzpatrick大力支持與協助。即使畢業多年，Lillian仍與MSU保持深厚連結，而過往的交流經驗，也成為她策劃此次SNAG展覽的重要契機。

本次展覽由Lillian邀請MSU與南藝大的老師、參與交流的校友及在校生共同參與，於北美地區最具代表性的當代金工與首飾盛會—SNAG Conference 2026展出。展覽集結二十餘年來跨越地域與世代的交流成果，更見證了一段建立於信任、友誼與共同成長之上的珍貴夥伴關係。感謝Lillian Fitzpatrick促成此次珍貴的相聚以及展覽期間MSU金工工作室的各方協助🌷

註：SNAG（Society of North American Goldsmiths）是1969年成立於的美北金匠協會，透過年度研討會促進金工與首飾藝術的交流、教育與專業發展。今年在密西根底特律舉辦第52屆研討會，論壇發表與展覽之外，現場也有學生與作品發表、材料技術、社群交流等多樣性活動。
