The program is 24 months (six semesters) duration and is divided into didactic (12 months) and clinical phases (12 months).

The Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies is a graduate, entry-level, professional study designed to prepare highly competent practitioners to practice primary care medicine in the context of team-delivered care in a rapidly evolving health care arena. Enrollment is on a continuous, full-time basis only. The curriculum is based on the Accreditation Standards for Physician Assistant Education and incorporates the principles of scientific inquiry, self-directed study, critical analysis, and problem solving. The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Missouri State University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Missouri State University. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards. Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2031. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy. Today in Procedures Lab, our PA-S1s spent the day learning endotracheal intubation, lumbar punctures, central line placement, and chest tube insertion!

A huge thank you to the Anesthesia Department for teaching us intubations and lumbar punctures, and to Franny Abbiatti PA-C, for guiding us through central line placement and chest tube insertion!

We are so grateful for the opportunity to learn from experienced healthcare professionals!!

PA Week is almost here!
We’re getting an early start on celebrating by answering an important question: What is a Physician Assistant?
PAs are highly trained, licensed medical professionals who diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, perform procedures, educate patients, and work alongside other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
From primary care and pediatrics to emergency medicine, surgery, and countless other specialties, the PA profession offers the opportunity to make a difference in nearly every area of healthcare.
As we head into PA Week, we’re excited to celebrate the profession, the PAs who serve their communities every day, and our Missouri State PA students preparing to join them! 🐻❤️

🥞 PAncakes in the PArking Lot! 🥞

We had such a great turnout at our pancake fundraiser this morning! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported us. All donations from today’s event will benefit the MSU CARE Clinic. 🤍

Thank you to our wonderful PA week committee for organizing and MSU Pre-PA Society for helping us out! We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this fundraiser possible!

Field Day was one for the books! 💚🏆💙🏃‍♂️🖤☀️❤️🥇

Our students took a break from the books and put their teamwork, competitiveness, and athletic skills to the test. It was a great day of getting together and having some fun outside the classroom!

And, of course… congratulations to the Cyanotics on taking home the win! 🏆
