Almost 20 years ago, Penn State Crew legends Ann Morrissey, Tracy Geist, Natalie Dell, Kelly Stine, and Kathleen Donovan kicked off an unforgettable season with a 3rd place finish in the Women’s Varsity 4+ at the 2005 Head of the Charles.

That race was just the beginning — they went on to win Dad Vails, then packed into a single hotel room en route to ECACs in Worcester, MA. Armed with MapQuest printouts, they drove through the night, raced the next morning in relentless rain… and won.

The crew remembers the season for what really mattered: grit, laughter, and a total comfort with chaos. Every logistical hurdle — from scrambling for accommodations to rigging boats and coordinating practice without smartphones — was just another part of the adventure.

This anniversary, we celebrate the 2005-2006 WV4+ and all PSU Crew rowers who have powered through challenges with resilience and heart — always showing up, racing hard, and loving every minute of it.

We are building a stronger fund to support alumni and team events (e.g. regattas and reunions), emergency capital for the team (e.g. unexpected storm damage and travel expenses), and a nest egg for larger projects (e.g. a semi-permanent structure).
