🔎 Course Spotlight: S*x Crimes — Waco Spring 2027
Interested in understanding one of the most complex areas of criminal justice? Dr. Shannon Hankhouse’s S*x Crimes course gives students the opportunity to examine s*xual offenders and the offenses associated with them.
Topics include r**e, s*xually motivated homicide, nuisance and dangerous s*x crimes, different typologies of s*xual offenders, and the broader impact of s*x crimes on the criminal justice system.
If you’re studying in Waco and want a deeper look at offender behavior, victimization, and justice-system response, this is a course worth considering.

🤖 Tarleton Criminal Justice represented at the Texas A&M University System Artificial Intelligence Research & Innovation Meeting!
Dr. Stan Korotchenko presented the third paper from his “Generative AI in Police Work” research program on October 5–6 in College Station, Texas.
The meeting brought together faculty, researchers, research leaders, and innovators from across the Texas A&M University System to showcase AI and AI-enabled research and build new opportunities for collaboration.
We are proud to see Tarleton Criminal Justice represented in these important system-wide conversations about the future of AI, research, and public safety.

🎉 Congratulations to Brittany Sutton!

We are proud to celebrate Ms. Brittany Sutton, Instructor of Criminal Justice, for earning the ACUE Advanced Certification in Effective Teaching and being recognized by Tarleton’s Center for Educational Excellence as one of three College of Liberal & Fine Arts faculty members acknowledged for this accomplishment.

This achievement reflects a substantial commitment to professional development and excellence in teaching. ACUE’s advanced certification requires completion of the full curriculum in both effective in-person and online teaching practices and typically represents at least 100 hours of work.

Brittany’s dedication to creating strong learning experiences and supporting student success is something worth celebrating. We are fortunate to have her as part of the Tarleton Criminal Justice faculty. 💜
