Looking back at August at The Capstone!

From embracing campus traditions to welcoming students back to campus, August was a month centered around connection, community, and service. We celebrated College Colors Day with Governor Kay Ivey, collaborated at SGA 101, connected with fellow Alabama student leaders at the 2026 STARS Conference, and met students at Hi Tide Day, Get On Board Day, and Script A.

This year is already off to an amazing start! We can’t wait to see what else this year has in store. Roll Tide!

The Tuscaloosa SAFE Center is a community-based, collaborative agency designed to meet the emotional, medical, and forensic needs of sexual assault survivors by providing quality medical care. Members of the SGA SAFE Center Committee will serve as a liaison between the SAFE Center and The University of Alabama campus community through volunteer and service opportunities, tabling efforts, and educational programming. Through these initiatives, members will support the SAFE Center’s work, raise awareness of available resources, and promote education and social change aimed at ending sexual violence and fostering a safer, more informed campus community.

We are excited to share the 2026 Student Organization Seating Map for the upcoming football season at Saban Field in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Thank you to every organization that applied this year.

We are proud to announce that every SOURCE-registered organization that completed the application process will have the opportunity to utilize a block for the 2026 season, as these organizations can apply for a rotating block. An email with details on opting into a rotating block will be sent directly to all SOURCE-registered organization leaders.
Check your email for important information regarding mandatory safety meetings and additional instructions.

Yesterday was another successful Hi, Tide Day! SGA members welcomed students back to campus, passed out snacks and treats, and launched the new A-Book, a UA resource guide created by SGA. Hundreds of students stopped by our four tents throughout the day!

It was such a blast meeting new people and seeing familiar faces again. Congratulations to Anna Beth Frazier, Vice President for Student Affairs, and University Programs for making this day happen! We can’t wait to see everyone again at the CWE Kickoff Event on September 17!

Apply to the Capstone Corner Committee!

Capstone Corner is a new SGA project designed to immerse students in programming and involvement opportunities offered by all divisions of SGA and their affiliated initiatives. Each session is joined by leaders in the SGA Executive Council & Cabinet, Senate, Judicial Board, Lobby Board, First Year Council, and more rotating monthly on a corner of the Quad.

As a committee member, you will be assisting with the operations and coordination of Capstone Corner while connecting SGA officers and the student body.
