Join us at Moundville Archaeological Park and Museum from October 1-3, 2026 for the Moundville Native American Festival! Bring your family and friends to meet Native American artisans, see traditional dances, listen to stories and music, check out our new exhibit, and support local and Native American businesses at an ancient city on the Black Warrior River.

Admission is $10 at the gate for adults, students, and seniors. Children 5-years-old and under are free.

Skull of the UT Austin Onion Creek mosasaur found in 1935 in central Texas. This ~70 million-year old specimen of 𝘔𝘰𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘪 is ~9 m (30 ft) long. The University of Alabama Museums Research & Collections contains 2 larger specimens of this iconic species that ruled the oceans during the latest part of the Cretaceous.
