🎃 Spooky Season Book Challenge! 🎃

Let's give your last read a frightening makeover...

👻 Take the title of the last book you read and add "With a Chainsaw" to the end.

Suddenly, your cozy romance, historical biography, or favorite children's book becomes a horror movie nobody saw coming.

Some examples:
🪚The Very Hungry Caterpillar With a Chainsaw 🪚 Little Women With a Chainsaw 🪚 Where the Crawdads Sing With a Chainsaw

🔍 Struggling to find the right sources for your research?

A few simple search strategies can save time and help you find better results:
✅ Use keywords and short phrases instead of full sentences
✅ Start broad, then narrow your search
✅ Try synonyms for your main concepts
✅ Use filters such as publication date, source type, and peer-reviewed articles
✅ Use Boolean operators: • AND = narrows results, • OR = broadens results, • NOT = excludes unwanted topics
✅ Use quotation marks around exact phrases

Remember: understanding how a database works is just as important as knowing what to search for!

Before laptops, tablets, and even personal computers, there was the trusty typewriter!

This week's takes us back to when our local Kiwanis Club generously donated typewriters to the college in 1970. These machines helped students build typing skills, complete school assignments, accomplish work tasks, and connect with a technology that was essential for everyday life.

It's a great reminder of how community organizations have long supported education and lifelong learning in the Ozarks. We're grateful for the partnerships that helped our campus grow and serve generations of residents.
