We're seeking musicians to join our performing ensembles! Whether you're a college student, an adult community member who wants to stay involved in music, or a high school student who desires an added challenge - there's a place for you at Missouri State West Plains!

Rehearsal begin the week of August 17-21. Minimum skill level required for membership.

๐ŸŽป Introducing the MSU-WP University Community Symphony Orchestra! ๐ŸŽถ

The Missouri State Universityโ€“West Plains Music Department is excited to announce the launch of our University Community Symphony Orchestraโ€”the newest addition to our growing family of performing ensembles!

Under the direction of Micah Boise, this ensemble will bring together talented musicians from across the region to rehearse, perform, and share a passion for orchestral music.

๐Ÿ“… Rehearsals: Thursdays | 6:00โ€“8:00 p.m.
๐Ÿ“ Location: Cass Hall, Missouri State Universityโ€“West Plains Campus (515 W Cass Ave)

The MSU-WP Community Symphony Orchestra will perform 2โ€“3 concerts each semester, providing members the opportunity to share their musical talents with audiences throughout the region.

Who can join?
๐ŸŽผ MSU-WP students
๐ŸŽผ High school musicians
๐ŸŽผ Adult community musicians

Whether you're continuing your musical journey or returning to your instrument after time away, we'd love to have you join us! Community members are welcome through a participation fee option, or you may enroll in the MSU-WP course MUS 176 for college credit.

Join us as we build a vibrant community orchestra that celebrates musical excellence, lifelong learning, and the joy of making music together. A minimum level of playing experience is required to ensure a successful experience for all members.

We are excited to welcome Micah Boise as the newest adjunct faculty member in the Missouri State Universityโ€“West Plains Music Department!

Micah brings a wealth of experience in music education, performance, and private instruction. Having served as both a high school band and choir director, he has dedicated his career to inspiring students and helping them develop their musical abilities and lifelong appreciation for the arts. His extensive background in individual and group private instruction makes him a wonderful addition to our faculty.

โญMicah's duties at MSU-WP includes:
๐Ÿ”นTeaching Piano, Music Theory, and Elective Courses
๐Ÿ”นProvide Applied Lessons
๐Ÿ”นDirector of the University/Community Orchestra
๐Ÿ”นAsst. Director of the University/Community Band

๐ŸŽน Private Lesson Opportunities
In addition to his work with our students and community ensembles, Micah will also offer both individual and group private lessons on percussion, piano, strings, and a variety of other instruments, creating even more opportunities for musicians throughout our region to learn, grow, and excel.

We are thrilled to have his knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for music education as part of our department, and we look forward to the impact he will make on our students, ensembles, and community.
