🧪 5 days. One shared goal: stronger laboratory leadership.
From 7–11 September, StellMed, in partnership with the Division of Chemical Pathology at Tygerberg Hospital, hosted the Leadership & Laboratory Management Course for Laboratory Professionals — and this year marked a special first: the course was held at the BMRI at Stellenbosch University for the first time. 🎓
Five days of learning, collaboration, discussion and plenty of group work — with delegates putting their knowledge into practice, sharing ideas and developing strategic plans together.
What makes this course even more special is its history.
The training began with Prof R Erasmus and continues today under the custodianship of Prof Annalise Zemlin, with Dr Katrien Kruger coordinating the course.
And all three were part of the programme as speakers, sharing their knowledge and experience with the next generation of laboratory leaders. 👏
From presentations to group discussions, problem-solving and final strategic plan presentations, the week was about more than simply learning.
It was about putting leadership into practice.
