Protecting bees is essential to preserving biodiversity and the health of our ecosystems. At Culinary Arts Academy, we believe that understanding their role is an important part of culinary education.
That’s why our campus beehives are more than a source of honey - they offer students a unique opportunity to explore biodiversity, observe natural cycles firsthand, and discover how closely food production is connected to nature.
Led by guest lecturer Romain Petitcolin, who manages the school’s beehives and honey production, students explored the fascinating world of bees through a hands-on sensory workshop. From searching for the queen and discovering the honeycomb to tasting honey straight from the hive, they experienced the journey behind one of nature’s sweetest ingredients.
By bringing nature onto our Bouveret campus, we make sustainability an integral part of our approach to education, connecting classroom learning with the living ecosystems that nourish us. 🐝🍯
