Following the launch of the first Cohort, now in their second year of studies, the Master in Social Care Practice will be available in the upcoming academic year, with the application deadline set for 31 July 2026. The programme offers participants the opportunity to critically examine social care practices, challenge existing boundaries, and apply evidence-based approaches to a diverse range of service users. It aims to enhance the quality and value of social care through a reflective and analytical lens.
The core values underpinning the units are cross-cutting and adaptable across various sectors, including public, private, voluntary, and not-for-profit organisations. These sectors encompass areas such as disability services, long-term and community care, end-of-life care, support for older adults, mental health, children’s services, social housing, justice systems, local government, seldom-heard groups, and migrant support services.
This interdisciplinary approach fosters peer learning, collaboration, and a comprehensive understanding of the diverse roles and responsibilities within social care professions. The programme is scheduled to be delivered in the evenings through a blended format, primarily online, with a limited number of face-to-face sessions.
