A meaningful final gathering in Thessaloniki brought the Language Buddy Project partners together to share results, experiences and next steps.

Representing Advenio eAcademy, Mr Stephen D’Alessandro, Executive Director, and Mr James Scerri joined the Transnational Project Meeting at the University of Macedonia.

During the afternoon International Conference, Mr James Scerri and Ms Kristina Maria Abela from SOS Malta presented the results and implementation experience of the Language Buddy Project in Malta, highlighting the activities carried out locally and Malta’s contribution to the wider project objectives.

The conference welcomed more than 80 guests and shared experiences from eight countries on how mentoring and buddy systems can support language learning and inclusion.

A proud moment for Advenio eAcademy as we celebrate the achievement of Ms Agatha Efem from Nigeria and Ms Nancy Jepchirchir Kiplagat from Kenya, graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Top-Up) programme.
Their graduation reflects the commitment, resilience and determination they demonstrated throughout their studies, as well as an important step forward in their professional development as nurses.
Representing the Board of Directors were Ing. David Dingli, Director, and Mr Stephen D’Alessandro, Executive Director. Mr D’Alessandro shared words of encouragement with the graduates, inviting them to continue their professional journey with the same values, commitment and ethics they have shown throughout their studies.
Mr Joel Chan, Member of Adjunct Faculty, also addressed the graduates, recognising their resilience and dedication in reaching this important achievement.
The ceremony was conducted by Ms Anaswara Chandran, Programme & QA Coordinator. Mr James Scerri, Projects Coordinator & System Administrator, and Ms Mariana Chacon, Marketing & PR Coordinator, also joined the celebration, together with relatives and friends of the graduates.
Congratulations to Agatha and Nancy. We wish you continued growth, fulfilment and success as you move forward in your nursing careers.

✨ Advenio eAcademy was delighted to participate in the National Info Day Event 2 at Ġnien il-Kunsill ta' l-Ewropa, Gżira, Malta, organised as part of Refugee Week Malta following an invitation from SOS Malta.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to present the AMIF Language Buddy Programme, an initiative that supports young migrants and refugees through language learning, mentorship, and social inclusion.

Throughout the day, visitors learned about the project's achievements, its positive impact on young people across Malta, and the opportunities available for Higher Education students to become volunteer mentors and contribute to a more inclusive society.

Advenio eAcademy was represented by James Scerri, who shared the results and ongoing activities of the project with attendees and engaged with prospective mentors interested in supporting the initiative.

We would also like to thank Kristina Abela and SOS Malta for providing us with the opportunity to participate in the event, share their stand, promote the programme, and recruit prospective mentors for the AMIF Language Buddy Programme.

The AMIF Language Buddy Programme is co-funded by the European Union and aims to strengthen language skills, confidence, intercultural understanding, and social integration among young people with a migrant background.

🇲🇹 The Language Buddy National Info Day took place in Malta!

Last May, Advenio eAcademy, in collaboration with SOS Malta, hosted the AMIF Language Buddy National Info Day in Malta — bringing together mentors, mentees, parents, guardians, and representatives from migrant organisations.

The event celebrated the impact of the Language Buddy Project: a journey of language learning, inclusion, and intercultural exchange that has supported migrant youth across eight EU countries over the past two years.

Participants shared their stories, reflected on the connections made, and celebrated the achievements they made throughout the programme. 🌍✨

A huge thank you to everyone who made this day possible — mentors, mentees, families, and all the organisations involved. 💙
