💙 PARENT SUPPORT GROUPS 💙

Parenting a child or adolescent with autism, a disability or additional needs comes with its own day-to-day challenges, questions and experiences. Having the opportunity to speak with other parents going through similar situations can be incredibly valuable. Sometimes, what you need most is simply to sit with someone who gets it.

We are therefore creating Parent Support Groups, a safe, welcoming space where parents can meet others walking a similar path, share experiences and challenges, exchange ideas, or simply talk and feel heard.

We are planning different groups so parents can connect with others at a similar stage, including:

• Parents of recently diagnosed children
• Parents of younger children
• Parents of adolescents and teenagers
• Parents navigating particular challenges or stages of their child's development

This initiative is not being created for profit. Sessions will take place outside the Blue Iris centre, and any fee charged will simply contribute towards the cost of hiring the space.

Most importantly, we would like these groups to be shaped by the parents who attend them.

⚡ No electricity? Let us help. 💙

If you’re a parent of a child on the autism spectrum and your home is affected by a power cut during our opening hours, we know how challenging this can be.

Changes to routine, no Wi-Fi, no air conditioning, and the summer heat can quickly become overwhelming for many children.

💙 Blue Iris Intervention Centre would like to offer a helping hand.

If we have electricity at the centre, we are happy to open our doors free of charge to families who need a safe, calm place to spend a few hours.

You are welcome to make use of:
✅ A comfortable, air-conditioned room
✅ Wi-Fi and electricity
✅ A quiet, autism-friendly environment

Parents/legal guardians can also work remotely from our centre during these hours whilst your children relax and play in the same space.

Please note:
• This service is completely free of charge.
• A parent or legal guardian must remain with their child at all times. We are offering the space only and are not providing supervision or childcare during these visits.
• Availability depends on our room availability and the centre having electricity.

At Blue Iris, we believe that supporting families goes beyond therapy. Sometimes, a cool, safe place and a little understanding can make all the difference. 💙

Not every child benefits from traditional learning, and that’s okay. 🌱

At Blue Iris Intervention Centre, our Academic Tutoring service is designed specifically for neurodivergent children and adolescents who may struggle to keep up with the school curriculum.

Sessions are provided 1:1 by qualified and experience teachers and/or LSEs trained in disabilities and behaviour management, under the supervision of a Behaviour Analyst.

Because learning should be adapted to the child, not the other way around. 💙
