Last Wednesday, the Malta Law Academy was delighted to host the launch of The Constitution of Malta and Rent Controls by Dr Kurt Xerri.

We congratulate Dr Xerri on this important publication and also thank our speakers, Dr. David Fabri, Prof. Tonio Borg & Prof. David Zammit for their insights and contributions. We would also like to thank Malta University Press for making copies of the book available for purchase.

⚖️ PUBLIC LAW IN ACTION: CHALLENGING POWER AND DEFENDING THE CITIZEN

Yesterday, the Malta Law Academy held a seminar exploring the challenges involved in defending citizens’ rights and holding public authorities accountable.

We would like to thank Dr David Fabri, Chairman of the Malta Law Academy, for his welcome address, and Prof. Tonio Borg for his analytical introduction.

A sincere thank you also goes to our speakers, Dr Eve Borg Costanzi and Dr Claire Bonello, for their valuable contributions on the challenges of protecting human rights, ensuring transparency and access to justice, and securing effective remedies against the exercise of public power.

Thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion, making this another valuable opportunity for reflection and exchange.

Yesterday, the Malta Law Academy hosted a seminar “Redundancy in the Age of AI and Other Considerations”, exploring the evolving challenges that artificial intelligence presents for employers, employees, and legal practitioners.

The session was led by Dr David Fabri (Chairman, MLA) and Dr Andrew Borg Cardona and Dr Richard Camilleri shared their insights with the attendees.

The seminar was very well attended and generated lively discussion, with valuable contributions and thought-provoking questions from the audience.

Ozempic® and Other Obesity Medications: Legal Update – Event Highlights

Yesterday, we hosted an engaging and timely lecture exploring the evolving legal and regulatory landscape surrounding Ozempic® and other obesity medicinal products.

A big thank you to our speaker, Dr. Anthia A. Zammit, for her insightful analysis, and to Dr. David Fabri, Chairman of the MLA, for the introduction.

💡 The session provided a comprehensive overview of legal frameworks on use, recent EU and US regulatory developments, manufacturer liability, market entry of generics and biosimilars, patient access channels, and the wider trade and geopolitical context of obesity drugs.
