🌍 Erasmus+ | International Academic Cooperation in Egypt 🇷🇴🇪🇬

Between 26 and 30 October 2026, Professor Gabriela Țigu, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Tourism at ASE Bucharest, and Professor Olimpia State, PhD, Vice-Dean for Research and International Relations, participated in Erasmus+ KA171 mobility activities at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Alexandria University, Egypt.

The teaching and training mobilities included academic activities with students, meetings with representatives of the host faculty, and exchanges of good practices in the fields of tourism and hospitality.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in teaching (including the possibility of developing a double-degree programme), research, the organisation of joint academic events, international mobility opportunities for students and academic staff, as well as exploring new avenues for cooperation at Bachelor's, Master's and PhD levels.

🤝 A valuable experience contributing to the strengthening of the partnership between the two universities and to advancing the internationalisation of the Faculty of Business and Tourism!

During the official visit to Baku🇦🇿, the ASE delegation, consisting of Prof. Nicolae Istudor, PhD, Rector of ASE, and Prof. Constantin Marius Profiroiu, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Relations, met two graduates of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies: Sabina Defta, ASE alumna and coordinator of the ASE Alumni International Club in Baku, and Ovidiu Defta, ASE Bucharest graduate.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the ASE alumni community in Azerbaijan and its involvement in the University’s international network through the ASE Alumni International Club.

🌍 Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) strengthens academic ties with Azerbaijan!

From 27–31 October 2026, a delegation of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, led by Rector Prof. Nicolae Istudor and Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Constantin Marius Profiroiu, is visiting Azerbaijan to explore new opportunities for academic cooperation and international partnerships.

The programme includes meetings with the leadership of several prominent Azerbaijani academic institutions, including the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Azerbaijan Technical University, Baku State University, Azerbaijan State University of Economics and Qarabağ University, as well as a meeting at the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan.

🤝 A key priority: expanding cooperation with Azerbaijani universities, particularly those specialising in economics and business education.

In line with ASE’s internationalisation strategy, the visit aims to identify opportunities for joint academic initiatives, research collaboration, student and faculty exchanges, and the sharing of best practices.

🎓 Exploring new opportunities in executive education

An important area of interest is the potential development of Executive MBA (EMBA) programmes in partnership with universities in Baku. Such initiatives could strengthen links between academia and the business community while expanding opportunities for advanced management education in an international environment.

Through this visit, ASE reaffirms its commitment to building sustainable international partnerships, fostering academic excellence and creating new opportunities for collaboration between Romania and Azerbaijan.

🌍 ASE at the AACSB Deans Conference 2026 | Day 3 – Orlando, Florida

Connecting Institutions. Strengthening Relationships. Expanding Global Perspectives.

ASE concluded its participation in the AACSB Deans Conference 2026 in Orlando, Florida, bringing three days of international engagement, professional dialogue, and valuable exchanges with leaders from the global business education community to a close.

Held under the theme “Leading Across Boundaries,” the conference brought together academic leaders to explore emerging challenges, exchange institutional experiences, and consider how business schools can strengthen their impact in an increasingly interconnected world.

ASE also had the opportunity to meet Xianjun Geng, Dean of the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.

🌍 ASE at “Building the AI-Ready University” | Queen’s University Belfast

On 19 October 2026, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) took part in the international conference “Building the AI-Ready University: Tools, Systems, and Strategies for the Future”, organised by UNICA in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast.

🎓 During the session “From Chalkboards to Chatbots: AI in Modern Higher Education”, Prof. Dr. Adela Bâra and Prof. Dr. Simona-Vasilica Oprea, from the Department of Economic Informatics and Cybernetics, presented two AI applications developed to support research and student wellbeing:

🔎 AI Research Lens uses generative AI and multi-agent systems to support bibliometric analysis and the exploration of scientific literature. The platform helps researchers identify research trends, explore themes and collaboration networks, and generate tailored analyses using natural language prompts.

💬 SENTIA Wellbeing for Students is a digital ecosystem designed to support students’ mental health and wellbeing. It brings together psychometric assessments, personalised conversational support and self-help activities based on cognitive behavioural therapy principles, alongside mechanisms for identifying situations of risk and directing students towards specialised support from the Career Counseling and Guidance Center psychologists. The platform is designed to complement professional psychological care, without replacing it.

🇷🇴🤝🇪🇸 ASE Delegation at Universidad de Alcalá

Between 19 and 21 October 2026, a delegation from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) visited Universidad de Alcalá in Spain. The delegation included Prof. Silvia Iacob, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Communication, and Assoc. Prof. Teodora Șerban Oprescu, PhD, Head of the Modern Languages and Business Communication Department within the the Faculty of International Business and Economics.

During the visit, they met with Mr. José Alfonso Lafuente, Head of the International Relations Office, and Prof. Lorena Silos Ribas, PhD, Vice-President for Internationalization. The meetings offered a valuable opportunity to exchange perspectives on internationalization strategy and to explore future joint initiatives between our two institutions.

A key highlight of Day 2 was the meeting with Prof. Nodir Adilov, Dean of the Doermer School of Business at Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW), USA.
