What a wonderful evening celebrating Associate Professor of Dance Colleen Wahl and the release of her newest book, Embodied Knowing: Somatic Wisdom in Motion, published by Satiama Publishing! 📖✨
Our dance studios were transformed into a celebration of movement, creativity, and community, complete with curated playlists, mood lighting, powerful passages from the book read by students and faculty, and an experiential demonstration led by Colleen herself. And, of course, delicious food that looked as good as it tasted!
A huge thank you to Dance faculty D. Chase Angier and Air Law for thoughtfully bringing this celebration to life, with support from colleagues across the Performing Arts Division.
This evening captured so much of what makes Performing Arts at Alfred special: accomplished faculty who are actively creating and contributing to their fields, curious students who get to learn alongside them and carry that learning into their own work and practice, and a community that celebrates one another through collaboration, creativity, and shared experiences.
Congratulations, Colleen! What an incredible accomplishment, and how lucky our students are to learn from expert artists and educators like you!
