Join us in congratulating Dr. Hoelscher on her new role as Associate Dean of the McLane College of Business!
While this title may be new, Dr. Hoelscher is certainly not. Over the years, she has made a lasting impact on countless students through her dedication, leadership, and commitment to helping them discover their purpose.
When asked about her favorite part of serving at UMHB, Dr. Hoelscher shared that it has been watching students find and fulfill the plan God has for their lives. She loves the energy, curiosity, and leadership potential students bring to campus and treasures hearing from alumni years later about the ways UMHB shaped their journeys.
As she steps into this new leadership position, Dr. Hoelscher is most excited to continue supporting students as they navigate college and prepare for what comes next. As a first-generation college student herself, she understands what it feels like to walk into college without a roadmap and is passionate about helping students find the resources, guidance, and confidence they need to succeed.
And in case you're wondering—despite working in higher education, she isn't a coffee drinker! You'll usually find her with a bottle of water or a Dr Pepper Zero nearby.
Her advice to current and future students: Do more than go to class. Ask the hard questions, challenge your initial thoughts, meet new friends, and try new things. This is the time to discover who you are and who you want to be.
