So Awesome!

UAB MPA student Cammie Wolfe, FocusFirst Training & Operations Manager at Impact America, along with current MPA and UAB students, like Hannah Music, and community members, volunteered at the first debate tournament in September.

Middle and high school students from Birmingham City Schools participate in the SpeakFirst Debate League. Impact America, alongside Birmingham City Schools and the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues, hosts three debate tournament nights in the fall. Benefits for students include an enriched academic experience, stronger written and oral communication and research skills, and improved confidence and a greater desire to participate in all academic classes.

What an inspiring day!

Last Friday, our Program Director and VISTAs joined leaders, changemakers, and community partners at the David Mathews Center for Civic Life's 10th Civic Institute The event provided valuable opportunities to learn, connect, and explore collaborative solutions to issues affecting communities across Alabama.

We're grateful for the experience and motivated to continue making a difference.
